Duratherm's new mineral insulated cable ring lug thermocouples feature greater accuracy and faster response than conventional general purpose ring lug thermocouples. All of the new ring lug thermocouple styles feature our molded transition mineral insulated cable thermocouple combined with a rugged formed ring lug.

The new ring lug configurations provide the accuracy and durability required for a wide range of sensor applications while minimizing sensor cost. High performance thermoset resin fully encapsulates a the sensors critical cable and lead connection area and secures the leads to the formed ring lug. This transition construction provides maximum mechanical strength while providing protection and moisture resistance for the cable and lead connection. The transitions outer metal sleeve reinforces the transition and adds additional protection for demanding applications.

The top series of photographs shows both the 0 degree flush cable tip design and the 0 degree extension cable tip design #10 mineral insulated ring lug thermocouple. The lower series of photographs shows both the 90 degree flush cable tip design and the 90 degree extension cable tip design #10 mineral insulated ring lug thermocouple.  The pictured thermocouples are type "J" calibration with Kapton insulated leads. Other thermocouple calibrations and lead styles can be provided when required.   The flush cable tip designs can be readily secured in place using a #10 screw. The extension cable tip design allows the junction to be inserted into a 1/16 inch diameter hole in the heated component and then secured in place with a #10 screw.

Both styles of the high temperature molded transitions are available with resin rated at 800° F. (427° C.) continuous and can be supplied molded with a 900° F. (482° C.) rated thermoset material when required.

The mineral insulated cable ring lug thermocouples with molded transitions are suitable for many industrial applications and is currently being used in an endless variety of processes including molding, extrusion, thermoforming, packaging, food processing and chemical processing.
